My 4 metre kinetic sculpture is inspired by seagrass meadows in the ocean. Seagrass is often called the “lungs of the sea” because it supports marine life, improves water quality, and stores carbon. Although it plays an important role in healthy ecosystems, it is often overlooked.
The sculpture is made from over 10,000 used wine lids. By transforming discarded materials into something visually engaging, I highlight the connection between everyday consumption and environmental impact. The movement created by the wind reflects the gentle motion of seagrass underwater, encouraging viewers to think about the beauty and fragility of marine environments.
